Sierra, Veterinary Assistant

Born and raised on the beautiful shores of Georgian Bay, Sierra has always had a deep connection to animals and the outdoors. Her journey into the veterinary field began straight out of high school, driven by a passion for animal care and welfare.

She attended Durham College, where she completed the Animal Care program, gaining valuable hands-on experience during her co-op placement at the Toronto Veterinary Emergency Hospital in Scarborough. After completing her program, Sierra returned to her roots in Georgian Bay and transitioned into general practice animal hospitals – a setting she has come to love. In 2024, she joined the team at Georgian Animal Hospital as a Veterinary Assistant.

Eager to grow her skills, Sierra is currently finishing the Veterinary Technician program at Seneca College. Her dedication to animals extends beyond borders. Most recently, she completed a placement in Costa Rica, assisting with wildlife care across the Caribbean coast, rainforest, and wetlands – an unforgettable experience that deepened her appreciation for global conservation efforts.

Outside of her professional life, Sierra enjoys exploring the outdoors, listening to music, and spending time with her loved ones, including her dog, Shorty.
